There is vast numbers of sumac trees growing along many roads and highways throughout the eastern part of the United States.
And in the fall, they turn some of the best fall colors.
But we find at this website that people are often sure that this is poison sumac – and it ain’t!
Poison sumac only grows in very wet areas, often with its roots in shallow water, which kills many other tree species.
So all that roadside sumac… enjoy!
