Here are three trees between a road and field. All three are covered with vigorous growths of poison ivy.
In fact, each of these could likely be stripped just by cutting the vines near the ground and just yanking the vines off the trees.
Of course, doing this will unleash gobs of urushiol oil, so you would need to take great care.
The cut off vines will die so you can toss them somewhere harmless. But the vines coming out of the ground usually die and don't grow right back.
